Lead Wind Farm Commissioning Project Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, management, and execution of offshore and onshore high-voltage electrical commissioning activities at our wind farm construction sites. For the coming years, this concerns our projects in the Mid-Atlantic Program, i.e., Ocean Wind 01 asset project, where we’ll establish our EPC Hub at the Atlantic City/New Jersey.

Welcome to Construction & Commissioning Management

You’ll be part of our Wind Farm Commissioning Project Management team where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver and ensure the overall reliability, operability, and performance of our new offshore wind farm projects. As the Lead Wind Farm Commissioning Project Manager at site, you’ll also lead a team of highly skilled High Voltage switching and control engineers. While on site, you’ll report directly to the Construction Package Manager, and your functional Line Manager for your further development.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • preparing, planning, coordinating, and executing the electrical commissioning of the overall wind farm assets, incl. system readiness tests and validation of performance
  • establishing, managing, and allocating tasks to electrical engineers and technicians, predominantly professionals with authorized qualifications
  • ensuring due diligence and stakeholder management and agreements to align, coordinate, and secure commissioning activities within the project in relation to HSE, QA/QC, contractors, external stakeholders, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
  • ensuring optimal planning and operation of wind farm capacity, performance, and reliability during the commissioning period until transfer to O&M
  • participating in the development and optimization of the commissioning execution of wind farms.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a relevant technical qualification, for example a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, B.Sc./B.Eng., or equivalent
  • possess leadership and management skills for impactful communication with teams and stakeholders, the development of your team, and for influencing project performance
  • have a strong personal drive and thrive with working in a project management role, coordinating complex and cross-discipline commissioning activities
  • have experience from large-scale projects such as offshore wind farms and thermal power generation plants to oil and gas, and managing the associated tasks in a professional manner
  • have solid experience with working efficiently in a large matrix organisation, and understand how to engage the right internal people and stakeholders at the right time
  • are resilient, persistent, and thrive in an international environment, with the ability to create good relationships with your stakeholders.

Please note that you’re expected to do extensive travelling in relation to your work. Once the construction activities commence from EPC Hub in Atlantic City, you’ll be required to presence on a weekly basis, ramping up full-time in situ when offshore commissioning activities starts. In parallel, travels across states and countries will be required for project stakeholders’ meetings. Yard visits to offshore substations, wind turbine generators assembly harbors etc. will also be required. For this reason, a Deputy Wind Farm Commissioning Project Manager will be assigned to you.
